BoosterHub Academy: 4.1 Store—Add Products

To add Products, go to Store in the navigation bar.

Using various Tags gives you a way to group your items in Store and Accounting. Prior to adding the items, first create the Tags you would like to use by going to Store > Create Program Tag or Create Category Tag.  Common Tags include Concessions, Spirit Wear, Sponsorships, and Memberships, and some clubs like to create Tags for Teams as well. Tags are indicated in the row next to each listed item. You can include multiple Tags for an item if desired.

Navigate to the blue Add Item box to begin to add items to your Store. On the first screen, you will have three options.

  • Add a Product. This is the most common option, and includes things like Tickets, spirit wear, and sponsorships.
    • First, add the Product name and description. Then add a photo, as this makes the product look much nicer in the system.
    • Pricing and Accounting. Select the account that the Product will go to in your accounting system, then you can add Tags. The Accounting Notes section keeps track of helpful information, for example if the product is bought in bulk at certain rates. Next enter the price, or you can select the option to allow the buyer to enter the price at checkout—if the Product is a donation, for example. Enter the cost or fair market value. Toggle the button if the Product is Taxable, enabling sales tax to be charged for the product.
    • Inventory and Availability. Select which Store you would like to sell the products in.  If selecting Online Store, the product will automatically be added to the website. If selecting Cashier Store, it will add the product to your Cashier checkout screen.  Quantity can be added for Products of a fixed quantity. A minimum quantity alert can be set at a specific number, so a notification is sent when the Product needs to be replenished.
    • Standard Options. You can Add a Note at checkout if you would like the user to enter information at checkout. Also, there is a standard SizePicker option, so if you are selling spirit wear or merchandise with sizes, you can select the sizes, numbers, and prices.
    • Custom Options. You can add custom options for the buyer, such as color, team, or sport, and custom prices. For example, different sponsorship levels could have additional specific charges.
    • Add-ons. These are either features to be added, or where information is needed from the purchaser. An example is if an individual's name might be added to a t-shirt.
    • Click Done and the Product has been added to the Product list and placed in the Online Store.
  • Add a Package. This is helpful when you combine items like a general donation with a spirit wear item. When sold as a Package, you will still be able to track the individual inventory of each item.
    • You will first add the Package name, description, and a photo.
    • On the next screen add the Products that are part of the Package.
    • Pricing and Accounting. Select the account to which the Package will be allocated. If you make the price of the Package lower than the combined total of all of the Products in the Package, it will deduct the difference from this account. If you make the price higher than the total, it will add the surplus into the account. You can add Tags and set price.
    • Inventory and Availability. Select Online Store or Cashier Store, click Done, and the Package has been added to the Store.
  • Add a Membership.  This can be either a single Product or a Package. A Membership is unique in that it is specifically designed to trigger a login to BoosterHub. Note that Memberships can only be sold in the Online Store, not the Cashier Store.
  • Add a Ticket. This is a Product that produces a downloadable QR code Ticket upon checkout. QR codes can be scanned for admission. BoosterSTUB products have a $1 ticketing fee paid by the donor.

If you want to remove items from the Store, click the Edit this Product icon on the same row as the item. Uncheck the box for Online Store and/or Cashier Store and click Save, and the item will be removed from the store. The Product can stay in your product list without being available in either Store.
