To use the Verifone e285 credit card scanner:

• Turn on the device by holding the green Enter button down until you see the Verifone logo. The device will go through a series of startup tasks for about one minute. A black screen will display the serial number. The Password to reset any of the settings on the device is the last 4 digits of the serial number.
• Once the device has started, you will then see the BoosterHub logo.  If the device says “Ready,” then it is ready.  If you need to reset the Wifi, type 2221, push the green Enter button, and then enter the Password.  If it is a new Wifi, you will tell the device “No” when asked if you want to use the previous settings. When asked what type of internet you are searching, you will enter Wifi. It will search for Wifi devices, and once it has found yours, select Yes and enter the Passcode. If the passcode includes letters, press the buttons multiple times to get to access those. Select Continue through the next few screens. Once complete, the device will need to reboot and go through the startup process again.
• When you are ready to use it for a purchase, navigate through the Store to the Cashier screen in BoosterHub. Select the device number that you are using, then select the Pay Credit option. The Verifone screen will light up, then you can tap the credit card on the device, use the chip entry at the bottom, or swipe at the top of the device. The Verifone will show you that the charge has been approved.
• Turn off the device by typing 1011 then the green Enter button.
