BoosterHub Academy: 7.1 Tags

There are two sets of Tags in BoosterHub. The first are the People Tags (with rounded corners). To create a new Tag, go to People > Create New Tag. Create the name, select the color, and set the Tag to be Admin Only if you want the Tag to be seen only by Admins.

  • In the Select by Tag section in the upper center of the page in People, you can select various Tags associated with various groups of the People in your database. This automatically forms a group which includes every person with that Tag in their profile.
  • You can make your chosen group larger or wider by selecting an additional Tag in the box below the first, labeled + Add more groups. This creates a larger group, with all of the people who have the first Tag, PLUS all of the people who have the second Tag. (Notice that the People Selected number increases.)
  • You can make your chosen group smaller or narrower by selecting a second Tag in the same box as the first Tag, labeled Click to narrow group. This creates a smaller group, with only those people who have BOTH the first Tag AND ALSO the second Tag. (Notice that the People Selected number decreases.)

The Tags are used for many things, including emailing groups of people.

Tags are used frequently in Calendar. Events can be filtered by Tag to show only events applicable to your group. If you click on the event and set it as a Private Event, then only those who have the Tag will be able to see it.

Tags also work in Webmaster. If you want to build a Page and have it populated by information from People, which is very useful for teams, you can go into the Team Page, select a section, and then add people by choosing Tags. This is a great way to manage team rosters or any other group that changes from time to time, as all you have to do is update their Tag, and it will update their presence throughout Webmaster.

In Store, the Tags look different in that they have rectangular corners. The Tags in the Store are also in Accounting, and they enable useful tools. For example, the Cashier screen defaults to all the Products, and you can then filter by the type of Tag. In the Online Store, you can create different sections and populate it with Products of that Tag to categorize your Products. In the Accounting system, the Tags are used to filter Reports. For example, you could pull up the income statement and then filter by the Concessions tag to see specifically the income from concessions.

In Chat, you can create Group Chats by using Tags. As users move in and out of BoosterHub and get their Tags updated, they will also move in and out of the Chat Group, which is a great way to keep the Chat Groups current to the specific people with whom you would like to communicate.
