BoosterHub Academy: 9.1 Inventory (+Bands)—Import & Assignment
BoosterHub+Bands works very similarly to BoosterHub in other modules, so if you have used BoosterHub before, it should be fairly simple to learn to use BoosterHub+Bands.
After preparing your Custom Fields in Inventory, import your data.
- Go to Inventory > Dashboard > Import. This works very similarly to the Import People feature.
- Select Add Instruments, Add Music, or Add Uniforms, and then find the .csv spreadsheet to upload. The files in the spreadsheet will then show on the left, and you will match them to the appropriate BoosterHub field on the right. For fields that do not match, you will choose Skip Column.
- Click Upload and the system will run the import in the background. If you want to check on it, you can click Imports and it will show and it will show you the status of the imports, including any duplications or issues.
When the import is complete and you go back to Inventory and choose an item type, you can see that it has added the items and associated information. Selecting the Edit button at the top right allows you to change which types of information are displayed on the main page for quicker visibility. Clicking on the item takes you into the specific item, and you can view all the associated data.
Note that every item is assigned a bar code, which you will use to do assignments with the BoosterHub app. To assign an item manually, click Assign, enter the identifier number, and select the student. The item has now been assigned, so if you navigate over to People, select a student's name, then scroll down to the bottom to their Inventory tab, you will see the item and date of assignment.
