BoosterHub Academy: 3.2 Accounting—Program and Category Tags
BoosterHub Accounting also uses Tags. If you are on a Pro subscription, you will have Program Tags and Category Tags. If you are on a Standard subscription, you will have just Category Tags.
Create a Tag by navigating to Accounting and then selecting the blue Create Program Tag and the Create Category Tag buttons. You can apply this Tag to items in the Store and to transactions in the Accounting. The Program Tag allows you to track income, expenses, and assets for various Programs (for example, Color Guard, Marching Band, Concert Band), whereas the Category Tag allows you to only track total income and expenses.
Navigating to Reports in the middle menu, selecting Income Statement from the dropdown menu, and toggling Summary View to Detailed View presents additional columns with income and expenses for individual Programs within the larger club, as well as Uncategorized income and expenses. You can also see this info in Balance Sheet from the dropdown menu.
For the Category tags, you cannot select the Detailed View, but you can select a Tag, and it will filter your report for just those items.
To add a Tag for transactions in the Store, go to Accounting > + New Transaction. If you add a Category Tag on the New Transaction page, the income from the purchase will be credited to that Tag, and you will see that on your Income Report as well as the Budget Report. You can also add the Tag for a Program, if the transaction was related to a particular Program, and it will also Tag these funds in your Balance Sheet.
